(CBS) After Titus Young’s third arrest in one week, his father is trying to make sense of his son’s public free fall after he was cut by the Lions.
Speaking with the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press, Young’s father, Richard, admitted his son has been prescribed the antidepressant Seroquel, which is used to treat bipolar disorders and schizophrenia.
“We knew that something had happened to him or he was locked up again,” Richard said. “His mind is not capable enough to go out and deal with society because of this situation.”
Titus was arrested for the third time Friday night for allegedly trying to break into a home. He was arrested earlier in the week on suspicion of drunken driving. Later that day, he was again arrested for trying to steal his car from a tow yard.
“I hope they just forgive Titus because this ain’t none of Titus, it wasn’t none of his fault,” he told The Free Press. “I look at my son right now, I don’t see my son. That’s not my son. I know my son.”
